How this works

Under section 9 of the Federal Child Support Guidelines, when each parent has the children at least 40% of the time, the court starts by working out each parent's table amount and offsetting one against the other. It then considers the higher costs of running two homes and each family's circumstances. Use the paying parent's province for both amounts if you live in the same province.
